Our goal is simply to provide just defense for the accused poor. It is not to attempt to hide from due punishment for the guilty, whatever their income level. Criminals should be punished to the proper extent of the law.
Our focus is on the thousands of low-income persons charged, arrested, and incarcerated, but whose guilt has not been proven in court. We are convinced that fair treatment of one accused of a crime is worth the best effort we can make. So we might not win, but not winning does not justify not trying.
